If you have limited wall space for a coat rack but need lots of hooks, this may be just the thing for you. At 57cm, this sumptuous piece of furniture is only a tad wider than a rugby player but with five double hat & coat hooks, large enough for an array of garments, dog leads, brollies and such. Made from furniture-grade kiln-dried French oak, this former drawer front is a veritable slab of wood, heavy and hard enough to drive a four-by-two. Originally hand-worked by French artisan, Francois Derobe some 30 years ago, the depth of the perimetre edge is defined by a 'sunk bead' cut - the facing edge by lovely twin, hand-cut 'raised beads'. Smoothed to the texture of skin, the rich gloss finish was produced with Rustic Pine Briwax, which polishes and stains in one go. This may dull down over time but is quickly brought back with beeswax polish, if desired.
Mounted on the rack is a traditional Edwardian-era design hat & coat hook made of cast iron. These are finished with Clear Briwax beeswax to protect the metal and to lift the look of the raw iron.
