If your taste leans towards absolute simplicity and elegance, the unusually straight grain of this rack, broken by three lovely knots, may be just the thing. Made from an antique pine kitchen table that resided in our family home for over 60 years (not that I'm that old), the table was Victorian when bought. Sacrilegiously topped with formica in the 1960s, I have salvaged sections of the top, which are perfect for coat racks. Unusually, the no-frills round-over edge of the plinth was painstakingly executed entirely by hand using hand wood planes. Smoothed to perfection, the subtle satin finish was produced with Medium Brown Briwax.
The classic design ball-end hat & coat hooks are made of wrought iron, finished with Clear Briwax beeswax to protect the metal and to enhance the look of the raw iron.
(This is 3 of 5, possibly 6 sections of this rare and beautiful wood, which can be shaped to your instructions and fitted with the hooks of your choice. For a quotation contact me - Steve Gamblin - at email@example.com).
